85th Academy Awards nominees led by 'Lincoln' and 'Life of Pi' (Photos)

The prestigious awards for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented in Hollywood on Oscar® Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, and televised live on ABC Television Network, according to information from the Academy Awards.

Steven Spielberg's drama, "Lincoln," about the 16th President of the United States Abraham Lincoln, leads the race for this year's Academy Awards, with 12 nominations. Nominations for "Lincoln" include: Best Picture, Best Director for Steven Spielberg, Best Actor for Daniel Day Lewis, Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones and Best Supporting Actress for Sally Field.

"Life of Pi" Ang Lee's mystical fable of a young man stranded on a ship's lifeboat with a Bengal tiger, follows closely behind with 11 nominations. Nominations include Best Picture and Best Director for Ang Lee.

"Les Miserables," an adaptation of the stage musical set during the French Revolution, earned eight nominations, including: Best Picture, Best Actor for Hugh Jackman, and Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway.

"Argo," from director Ben Affleck, received seven nominations, Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Alan Arkin. "Argo" wins Golden Globe awards, Critics' Choice awards led by Affleck's "Argo"

"Zero Dark Thirty," from Oscar winning director Kathryn Bigelow, received five nominations, including Best Picture.

Best supporting actor nominees are Robert De Niro ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("The Master"), Tommy Lee Jones ("Lincoln"), Alan Arkin ("Argo") and Christoph Waltz ("Django Unchained").

Best supporting actress nominees are Sally Field ("Lincoln"), Amy Adams ("The Master"), Anne Hathaway ("Les Miserables"), Helen Hunt ("The Sessions") and Jacki Weaver ("Silver Linings Playbook").

Best director nominees are Steven Spielberg ("Lincoln"), David O. Russell ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Ang Lee ("Life of Pi"), Michael Haneke ("Amour") and Benh Zeitlin ("Beasts of the Southern Wild").

Best Foreign Language Film nominees are: "Amour," Austria; "Kon-Tiki," Norway; "No," Chile; "A Royal Affair," Denmark; "War Witch," Canada.
