The 84th Annual Academy Awards will be held on Sunday night but before the stars arrive there are details to finalize. On Wednesday the transformation of the Kodak Theater (a name that has been changed to the Highwood and Highlands Center) has begun. Rolls of red carpet are being laid on the street and sidewalk, signs are being placed and workers are on the scene round the clock to be ready for one of the biggest award shows.
While the scurrying is happening outside, it appears that inside the show is in rehearsals. Billy Crystal, this year’s host confirmed on Tuesday that he, along with the crew, are currently preparing for the big night.
“First rehearsal: They said keep it ‘fresh and new.’ This from an industry that just brought us Fast & Furious 5 and Harry Potter 7, part 2,” wrote Billy Crystal.
Still early in the week, the preparation is expected to continue as the event area needs to be picture perfect. All the while fans mingle around the area of Hollywood and Highland hoping to catch a glimpse of a celebrity who might be in the area for rehearsals.
