80s Pop Superstars Debbie Gibson & Tiffany to bring their rivalry to the small screen

Team Tiffany? Team Debbie?

We all heard the rumors in the 80s. Tiffany and Debbie Gibson were the original Britney and Christina with obsessive fans setting up camp on one side or the other. There was no middle ground when it came to who you preferred. (Looks like Best of the 80s was Team Debbie.)

Now the two, who have faded from the spotlight in years gone by, are getting their chance to physically duke it out. Who cares that it's going to be in a SyFy movie? It's happening. (That's cable channel 70, Dish channel 122 and DirectTV channel 244 for all you Lexingtonians.)

The two who have both starred in some of SyFy's notoriously over-the-top cheese-fests before (Gibson in Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus and Tiffany in Mega Piranha), are set to star in yet another sci-fi flick except this time they're dealing with giant snakes and alligators. According to The Hollywood Reporter,

Gibson will play a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades, where they grow to mega sizes. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators.

In the script, the pair brawl at a party, then take matters outside into the swamp.

Ahh, sounds like a winner, right? However, it seems like the two enjoy having fun with the corny mutants they're set to fight. Plus, they're more than excited to poke a little fun at the assumed rivalry that followed them around in their hay-days. Check out the clips below of Tiffany and Gibson in their former SyFy roles. And seriously, try not to laugh. What- you mean you don't think you can fight off giant piranhas by doing the "bicycle"? You're sorely mistaken, friend.
