$80,000 stolen dogs are making headlines today after it was discovered that the animals were stolen in Florida at the beginning of the new year. The highly valued pooches were French bulldogs, one of which was award-winning El Che, whose honors included awards at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in 2010 and the French Bulldog Club of America National Specialty Show in 2009.

According to a Jan. 3, 2014 report by Yahoo! News, Marcelo Cicuta of Miami was celebrating the New Year's Eve festivities at a friend's kennel when person or persons unknown absconded with the $80,000 stolen dogs.

Although the value of $80,000 stolen dogs is unusually high enough to make national headlines, these French bulldogs were not the only animals stolen recently.

For more information about the unrelated theft of a litter of six adorable future service dogs, check out the video at the top of the page. The six-week-old American bulldog pups were stolen from a locked car in a parking lot. They were being trained to assist people living with hearing impairments. This theft was caught on video.

As for the $80,000 stolen dogs, the sole adult was worth $50,000 alone while the stolen puppies could fetch $2,500 apiece on the black market.
