I wouldn't be in the spirit of October if I didn't hunt down all the beer and sausage I could find. Here's a list of amazing foodie events to check out in honor of our state's German heritage.
With a different special every night and a selection of craft Oktoberfest beers to choose from, this is a great spot to hit up any night you're free. They're busting out some traditional German food as well as modern Berliner street food.

Banger's Sausage House and Beer Garden: "Banger's Oktoberfest"
The celebrations are building up until the 6th, when you can expect a grand finale party. Until then, there will be featured breweries changing every couple of nights, so check out their calendar for ones you like. And a variety of live music shows will keep the place bustling.

Easy Tiger: "Easy Tiger's Oktoberfest"
Be sure to stop by on the 3rd for their Kick-Off party where they'll tap a keg of the extremely rare and extremely delicious Avery the Kaiser at 7pm! Throughout the week they'll feature specialty beers and various live music acts. And their Oktoberfest spread looks delicious.

German-Texan Heritage Society: "German-Texan Heritage Society's Annual Oktoberfest"
This is a great event for family friently fun. There will be a diverse set of events for anyone hoping to get into the spirit. Kids 12 and under get in free and discounted tickets can be bought directly from their website.

North by Northwest Restaurant and Brewery: "Oktoberfest"
On top of the already amazing events and activities planned, there will be multiple contests at this celebration including a bratwurst-eating contest and a weiner dog costume contest! There will also be an all-breed contest for other dogs so no one gets left out. Their special Oktoberfest brew will be made in-house and will perfectly compliment the authentic German dishes.

A festival within a festival! This event showcases local, regional, and national craft beers and brewers. Rare beers, perfect combos, and tastings can be found daily at over 40 locations. Though this isn't quite German, it's still very much in the spirit of national pride--the pride of food and drink. Take the chance to support local craft beer and compare it to what you find at other locations.

The Draught House will have special brews and food available for Oktoberfest, but the main event happens on the 26th. On the 26th, the Draught House will celebrate it's 45th anniversary with DJs, food trucks, and fine beers.

Antonelli's Cheese House: "One of a Kind: Cheddars!"
Antonelli's Cheese House features cheese tasting courses and a wonderful shop. At this event, they'll focus on delicious cheddars and beer pairings. Be sure to get tickets soon because they sell out fast!
