The 7th annual Chicago Dancing Festival began tonight with amazing performances at Harris Theater. This completely free Festival continues every night this week, concluding Saturday evening with an outdoor performance at Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. Tickets for the indoor events are gone; however, if you’re willing to wait in line and take your chances, you may be able to attend one of those performances after all. Each show will have a Stand-by Line starting one hour prior to curtain time. Any seats unclaimed within 15 minutes of the show will be released to those in the Stand-by Line. Not interested in standing in line? No problem. Just head to Millennium Park for the finale on Saturday with several amazing dance groups, including Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet. I strongly suggest that you show up a couple of hours prior to starting times, though – not only the seats, but the entire Great Lawn as well, will fill up very early.

Wednesday, August 21, 6:30 pm – “Solitaire – A Game of Dance” (Gala Performance & Benefit)

Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Avenue

· The Chicago Dancing Festival celebrates seven years with its annual Gala, an evening celebrating solo artists from the world of classical, contemporary, Bharata Natyam and Flamenco dance. This fundraising benefit includes a performance and benefit with an opportunity to mingle with many of this year’s participating artists. This is the only paid ticket event during the 2013 Festival. Tickets are $250 per person and can be purchased by emailing info@chicagodancingfestival.com. Space is limited.
