Northern California Arts is hosting an exhibition. "Art Deco 1939- to present", is the name of this 75 anniversary membership exhibition.
This is a special exhibition to celebrate their 75th anniversary, hence the 1939 date. Christopher Daubert a local art educator has chosen the theme and the artworks for the exhibition.
There will be music and wine, food and refreshments. This is a themed party from the Art Deco period of American Art History. The time included the Great Gatsby, but was also about the Great Depression when building works across the country were under way with this unique style of decoration.
It encompasses the elements of nature as well as showing off the natural architecture of buildings. It is a very rich look and helped the opulence of the Roaring Twenties swing.
This is a free event and it is being held at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center 5330-B Gibbons Drive. It will run from January 2-22, 2014. They are open from 11 A.M. to 3 or 7 P.M. on Tuesday through Saturday.
The Gala Celebration will be held on January 11, 2014 at 5.30 P.M. Awards will be presented in honor of 75 years of glamour and history. There is a mention of customes and champagne. www.sacfinearts.org
