70th Golden Globe winners!

The Golden Globes were announced Sunday night, and there were a few choice surprises -- and they didn't come from Tina Fey and Amy Pohler's wonderful hosting.

Two of the biggest surprises came from CIA thriller Argo, which took the Best Drama award from both Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty, the latter being considered as the favored to win last night. Even bigger of a surprise was Ben Affleck taking the Best Director award, beating out Ang Lee, Quentin Tarantino, Kathryn Bigelow, and the legendary Steven Spielberg. If this doesn't validate Affleck's career, nothing will.

Les Miserables took the Best Musical or Comedy award, which is the first movie musical to win in five years since Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway took honors as Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical and Best Supporting Actress respectively, giving the long-awaited musical adaptation the most wins of any movie this year.

Quentin Tarantino won Best Screenplay, while Christoph Waltz Best Supporting Actor for the controversial Django Unchained, while, less surprisingly, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jessica Chastain both won Best Actor and Actress in a Drama, and Jennifer Lawrence won for Best Actress in a Comedy.

With the Oscars in about a month, these wins can possibly shake things up a bit. What was slated to be a cake walk for Zero Dark Thirty, Lincoln, and Life of Pi may no longer be so, with each film only taking one Golden Globe apiece. It will be interesting to see how the chips fall in February.

Without further ado, here is the...
