700-Plus event at Sarasota Lanes; two more area bowlers roll 300s

The 14th annual 700-Plus Tournament, conducted by the Sarasota-Manatee USBC Bowling Association, will be held on Sunday (Feb. 19) at Sarasota Lanes.

The event will begin with handicap (90 percent of 220) doubles competition at noon, and each team must consist of one SMCBA member who has rolled a certified three-game scratch series of 700 or better and a member who hasn't done so. Walk-in entries will be accepted at a cost of $50 per doubles team.

Scratch and handicap singles events will take place at 3:30 p.m. All SMCBA members who have rolled a 700+ series at any time are eligible for scratch singles, and all members who haven't rolled one in the past four years are eligible for handicap singles. Walk-in singles entries will be accepted at a cost of $25, and the top five finishers in scratch singles will be entered into a PBA-style stepladder finals.
