Puerto Rican Salsa singer Eddie Santiago gathered an estimated 700 people for his concert at the Conga Room, at L.A. Live, this past Thursday. Respected within the Latin community as one of the biggest exponents of Salsa Romantica since the late 80s-early 90s, the 55-year-old singer continues to have a strong following.
Backed by a band of Los Angeles musicians, Santiago stepped on stage around 11.30 pm to perform songs like Lluvia (Rain), Tu Me Quemas (You Burn Me), and Que Locura Fue Enamorarme De Ti (It was crazy To Fall In Love With You), pieces so well known and so often heard at Salsa clubs that, non-surprisingly, most of his fans could sing along with him. His show continued for about an hour during which he interacted with the crowd and ultimately granted them their requested “otra - otra” encore before waving good-bye.
It was a nice concert that the Conga Room offered at a discounted ticket price and made affordable to everyone in attendance.
