Toss out those hats and scarves (at least for the moment) and reach for those combs and brushes, it’s time to whip your hair into shape for the spring. Trendy spring hairstyles this season are a balancing act between the bizarre, pink streaks anyone? and the classic.
On the spring 2013 runways a few of the trends have made a return back from the previous spring/summer season-- knots and braids, the rest are fairly new. Wavy hairstyles are among the huge hits for the spring, curvy locks were visible on the runways for Diane Von Furstenberg, Isabel Marant and Versace.
The ponytail look is also very popular, this go around the ponytail is much lower and below the nape. The look has a no fuss modern approach, it was seen on the runways for Alexander Wang, Jil Sander, Etro and Elie Saab.
Another trend do is the classic part down the middle. This classic look is a simple part at the center of the hair with straightened hair falling flat to the back or at the sides a la Gwenyth Paltrow.
There are a number of ways you can achieve these looks for the spring, first starting off with the right hair care products and then the proper tools. For the part down the middle classic look use a flat iron and hair serum which will help flatten the hair. For the knot and low ponytail look, a ponytail holder is a necessity as both of these looks feature a bun and/or ponytail.
