7 Tips to Lose Love Handles

Oh love handles, I've seen many clients complain to me that they just wish they were gone. Guys complain that it gets rid of their V-taper, and girls complain that it makes them look like a muffing top. Well I don't care if you are going to go swimming in 14 weeks, or if you just want to look better as soon as possible, if you follow the tips in this post, you will get rid of those love handles just like you want. Here are some tips that will help you make them melt away.

1. Spot training doesn't work

This is one of the biggest lies from the fitness industry. Just buy our fat burner 3000X machine and you'll get rid of those love handles! It doesn't work that way, instead you need to slowly reduce your calories while you workout, your body will start to lose fat, fortunately in my experience after about 3 or 4 weeks your love handles will start to rapidly disappear. No machine will make you do that, so save yourself the money and don't buy into these lies.

2. Lower your calories

Losing weight is a simple formula, eat less calories then your body uses! Want to gain weight? Eat more! Of course your macro nutrients can help your body change its image. If my clients want to look toned I always recommend about 30% protein 50% carbs, and 20% fats. I find that you can usually change these numbers, just keep the fats at 20%.

Counting calories is simple though, just use an app like My Fitness Pal. You'll be glad you did, I've seen clients make miraculous changes in just a few weeks by counting their calories.

3. Cardio or HIT

Now when I mention Cardio, you can do almost anything. I personally like to go on the elliptical at a fairly easy pace for 40 minutes or so. It helps my body burn up the extra fat on my body, and I don't have to kill myself doing it.

If you like a more active approach consider HIIT. HIIT can produce some fantastic quick results, leaving your body nice and toned. Plus, usually a good session of HIIT only takes 20 to 30 minutes. You can either buy a program like Insanity for HIIT, or you can just youtube HIIT programs and use free ones that are just as useful.

4. Don't Cheat

This is the toughest part. Be honest with yourself! Start a workout journal, write out if you worked out each day, how you're feeling, and how you look. If you cheat on your diet write down your resolve to not cheat again. Remember, cheating on your diet may make you feel good for a minute, but it'll leave you feeling guilty later on, and won't lead you to your goals. Keep the long term in mind and you'll end up looking great.

5. Lift Weights

All of my clients that consistently lift weights love their bodies. I don't care if you're trying to slim down at all, you need to lift weights. And for women reading this, yes, that means you too! There is so much mis-information about weight lifting and women, it's about time you learned the truth about weight lifting. Weights are good for your muscles and keep you healthy and strong, they help you create a good looking healthy body.

6. Eat Vegetables

Want to know why your mom always told you to eat vegetables? Because they make you look great! If you want to burn off those love handles eat lots of carrots and celery. Use them as a snack throughout the day. If you do this you'll see huge differences in your body after just 2 weeks, you'll start to see those love handles disappear!

7. Follow a Program

Follow a program, seriously, it will keep you motivated, and it will ensure your success. If you can find a personal trainer, just make sure that they are willing to work with your nutrition as well.
