7 Super iPad apps for Super Bowl XLVI 2012

Seven iPad apps stand out as winners for those watching the Super Bowl for the football itself, the commercials, trivia and stats -- or to win one of 20 automobiles Chevrolet is giving away during and after the game.

  1. Super Bowl XLVI Official NFL Game Program:  This app is the souvenir program that will be handed out at the big game, plus additional digital content.  The app requires 1GB of space and time to download to accommodate the 400 MB of exclusive NFL video and other features.  The app includes a wealth of trivia including Super Bowl Records, video of Top Ten Super Bowl Plays and game strategies of the Giants and the Patriots.  Presented by Chevrolet, this beautiful iPad app is available for free in the App Store.
  2. Super Bowl XLVI Commemorative App:  The app includes each team's road to Super Bowl XLVI, a breakdown of the game, written recaps and key stats, and bonus feature content like all-time, all-star teams and Super Bowl history. When the game is over, celebrate Super Bowl XLVI with official video highlights of the game as well as interviews, pictures, animated plays, and stadium shots.  The Super Bowl XLVI Commemorative App is available for $2.99.
  3. SB XLVI Guide: This app provides a virtual tour of Lucas Oil Stadium, the Super Bowl Village and other Indianapolis venues.  Intended as a guide for those attending the Super Bowl, the app also provides a remote experience (and again, more trivia) for those watching at home.  A portal to watch the game on the iPad is available for those with Verizon coverage.  The Super Bowl SLVI Guide is free in the App Store.
  4. Super Ads Super Bowl Commercials: This app for iPhone and iPad features a table of contents to over 200 Super Bowl commercials on You Tube from the past seven years, as well as 2012 ads.  Ads are organized by favorites from each year, or iPad users can search for Super Bowl ads by brand name. Users can share links to ads from within the app via email, Facebook and Twitter.  The app does require a strong and fast wi-fi connection for accessing HD YouTube content.  The Super Ads Super Bowl Commercials app is available for $1.99.
  5. Patriots Football Daily: A flipboard style news app with in-depth coverage of everything concerning the Patriots and their fans.  The app is initially free with a seven-day trial, which will get you through today’s Super Bowl XLVI, with subscriptions available for one month for $3.99, 1 year for $19.99 and free for Season Ticket Holders.  The Patriots Football Daily includes Patriots Game Center the Kirsch Words blog with in-game commentary and Twitter and Facebook feeds from users mentioning the Patriots.  The Patriots Football Daily app is free in the App Store.
  6. New York Giants Mobile: This feature-rich app hit 100,000 downloads just a month after launching in September due to excellent content with statistics, video, interviews, post-game blogs, podcasts and social media check-ins. The New York Giants Mobile app for iPhone and iPad is available for free in the App Store
  7. Chevy Game Time App:  This iPad app features a beautiful user interface with several features and a live Twitter feed from Chevrolet.  After downloading, users can register via Twitter, Facebook or email to win a Chevy Camaro.  Thousands of prizes, including 20 Chevys, will be given away for answering live trivia about the game, commercials and random topics.  Each user is assigned a virtual license plate ID.  If your plate appears in a Chevrolet Super Bowl ad, or on February 7 within the app, you win the car the plate is on. The Chevy Game Time app is free in the App Store.
