A Utah woman has been arrested after police found the seven bodies of dead infants in containers in her home and garage. Fox 13 Now reported on April 13, 2014, that 39-year-old Megan Huntsman was booked into the Utah County Jail and faces six counts of murder. Police believe that she gave birth to six of the children over a 10-year period and then killed them.
The police were contacted and responded to the home after residents found what appeared to be a dead infant at full term in a container while cleaning out the garage. Upon arriving and searching the home, police found the additional bodies.
One of the babies was believed to be stillborn.
According to the press release from Pleasant Grove Police, “During the course of the investigation information was obtained that; over a 10 year period a 39 year old female gave birth to the infants and then killed them.”
Huntsman had not lived in the home since 2011, and she had shared it with her husband. Her husband, a Mr. West, served nine years in a federal prison on drug distribution charges. West had returned to the home to begin cleaning it out when he and helpers found the seven dead infants.
During the time that Huntsman was living in the home, she was there with three children that were hers and West's. Those children have grown up and are now in their teens.
Police have now issued a number of search warrants after the discovery of the bodies of the infants. One of those warrants is for the West Valley City home of Huntsman.
