The Covey family has a series of books, and the latest in a long list of great books is the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. The book is kid friendly and will guide children on a journey of self-awareness. The book is a requirement in some of the Wayne Westland School District elementary schools. Parents should read this book to little ones and help their Kindergarten and 1st graders read as well. Older children in 2nd through 4th grade can read on their own.
The book covers:
· Being Goal Oriented
· Being Responsible and Showing Initiative
· Being Creative
· Being a Problem Solver
· Resolving Conflict
The characters are adorable and are as follows: good Bear, Lilly Skunk Sammy Squirrel, Sophie Squirrel, Pokey Porcupine, Tagalong Allie, and Ernie the worm. Without giving away the plot the book covers subjects such as boredom and what children should do for them not ask Mom or Dad. Additional topics are beginning with the end in mind, putting first things first, thinking win-win, and the list goes on. Essentially the book helps children thing and look at the big picture in life.
This is an excellent read and your family will learn and enjoy every minute you spend reading it together! Happy Reading!
