Denim is the all American fabric. Worn as shirt, pants, or as a short skirt, denim is the staple for summer 2014. Now through July 6, 7 For All Mankind is making it easy to stock up the new neutral at the semi -annual sale. There are 47 stores in the U.S. and 150 globally. This year, Miguel says 7 for all Mankind is making a comeback in Atlanta. The store, located in Lenox Square, recently the denim store moved to a new location and is now about half the size it was last year. President Barry Miguel says, it’s all about what works better for the brand.
“Overtime you redo the footprint and what the store looks like,” Miguel says. “It’s just the right amount of space. It has sort of a jewel box spin.”
Jeans line the walls folded on shelves and hanging from small nooks. Others are folded on display tables to easily touch and try on. This summer, the there isn’t a variety of colors, the store is decorated in sea of light blue denim with some white pieces integrated into the color palette. Dressed in a pair of cuffed jeans and a white denim jacket, Miguel explains how denim is one of the must haves for summer.
"It’s a return of denim this summer blue denim is been the color print for a few years. We’re returning to light wash and white,” Miguel explains. “Blue was incredibly important neutral, because Spring is so heavy in black and white.”
Along with the color shift, the style of jeans has also changed. Wearers are going for a more fitted look that is indicative of the lady like style taking over summer. “Spring is all about a silhouette shift. Everything is skinny. There are higher waist jeans with a shorter top where the top meets the jean. The boyfriend jean is crazy. It’s worn shorter, rolled up, to make it casual and worn with a heel.”
