7.98 million watched the US vs Mexico soccer game, says Nielsen

June 28, 2011 - Added to the thousands who attended the US vs Mexico game at the Rose Bowl last Saturday were 7.98 million people more watching the game on Univision, according to Nielsen Co. and as reported by the Associated Press.  The prior Copa Oro 2011 match between Mexico and Honduras had pulled 7.12 million in front of the screens.

These numbers put the two matches in the top 20 list released by Nielsen Co. for the week of June 20-26.  The list measures television programs' ranking and viewership. 

The complete list follows:

1. "America's Got Talent" (Wednesday, 9:16 p.m.), NBC, 13.5 million.

2. "America's Got Talent" (Tuesday, 8 p.m.), NBC, 12.3 million.

3. "The Voice," NBC, 12.05 million.

4. "America's Got Talent" (Wednesday, 10:16 p.m.), NBC, 10.75 million.

5. "The Voice Results Show," NBC, 10 million.

6. "NCIS," CBS, 9.33 million.

7. "NCIS: Los Angeles," CBS, 8.84 million.

8. "The Mentalist," CBS, 8.02 million.
