$7.2M jackpot after funeral: Penny slots lead to jackpot win following funeral

A $7.2M jackpot win after attending a funeral is what a Michigan man achieved recently. After a funeral in Mississippi, Tyler Morris struck it big at the Palace Casino. According to a report from FOX on Tuesday (Feb. 19), Morris was playing a penny-slot machine that has a progressive jackpot.

Hailing from Montague, Morris was down in Mississippi to attend the funeral of a friend. What had started out as a sad trip may have resulted in him being set financially for life. Morris and his wife plan on using part of the winnings to pay off a car that they purchased to drive down there.

Lisa Quirch, the Palace Casino advertising and PR manager stated that, "Tyler said he felt his friend was watching over him and had blessed him with the big win." Quirch also stated that the reason the Morris' had chosen this particular casino was because their friend had enjoyed playing there.

Winning a $7.2 million jackpot after attending a funeral is certainly one way to get over the sadness. As for the progressive jackpot on that particular machine, the casino says that it has been reset to $200,000.
