Announced on March 4, Northside Festival is returning in 2014, with over 90,000 folks who'll be attending venues in Williamsburg to Greenpoint, between the dates of June 12 through June 19, 2014. This is the sixth year Northside is bringing up-and-coming music, film and innovation. This is Brooklyn's largest festival.
Northside Music (June 12-15) will bring over 400 bands from Brooklyn and beyond for a showcase of what’s next in music. This year's line-up includes Sharon Van Etten, Titus Andronicus, Beach Fossils, Courtney Barnett, Omar Souleyman, Dan Croll, Eagulls, Mas Ysa, Luke Temple, Laurel and more, with curated shows from such local media outlets and stores such as Pitchfork, BrooklynVegan, Sacred Bones Records, Captured Tracks, Ad Hoc, NYC Popfest, BreakThru Radio and The Deli Magazine. Northside Film is excited to present Joana Vicente, Executive Director of IFP and producer of the films Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (2005), Coffee and Cigarettes (2003) and Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995) as the 2014 Northside DIY Film Competition jury chair! She'll be joined by Parker Posey, Ira Sachs (Love is Strange, Keep the Lights On), Matthew Grady (Factory 25) and Kentucker Audley (NoBudge Films, Sun Don't Shine). More partners include Jameson Irish Whiskey, and will be introducing VH1 and Palladia as Platinum partners to the 2014 Festival.
