RALEIGH -- According to Jim Sughrue, RPD's Director of Public Affairs, several animals have been re-located from a Raleigh home.
Shortly before 9:00am Thursday morning, officers responded to a humane call on Professor St. Once officers arrived on scene, they conducted an on-scene investigation of the premises. Upon conclusion of the investigation, officers decided to remove 67 dogs and 3 cats from the residence.
51 of the dogs were surrendered completely. 16 dogs and 3 cats were placed into protective custody, and taken to the Wake County Animal Shelter for medical evaluation and care.
Sughrue also said the case is still under investigation, and charges have not yet been filed against the residents of the home.
