666 stamped W-2: Man quits job following omen

A 666 stamped W-2 caused a Tennessee man to quit his job. On Feb. 7, FOX News reported that Walter Slonopas simply had to quit his job after receiving his W-2 tax form. He truly believes that the number is bad luck -- as do many people. "666" often is referred to as the devil's number and many believe that it's appearance is an omen.

Slonopas explained that "accepting the number would have condemned his soul to hell. That number is considered the 'mark of the beast' in the Bible's Book of Revelation describing the apocalypse," FOX News reports. Although the company offered to send Slonopas a new W-2 free and clear of any devil numbers, he has chosen to move on with his life.

The 666 stamped W-2 isn't the first time that Slonopas encountered the "bad number" either. According to the report, the 52-year-old complained when he was given the number "666" to clock in at work. He was given a new number. It seems as though the man is either very religious or very superstitious -- or maybe a little bit of both.

Most people would agree that quitting your job over a number on a piece of paper is a little extreme. However, Slonopas has very strong feelings about the negativity surrounding the number "666" and for whatever reason, he isn't the type of person who can just shake something like that off.

Would a 666 stamped W-2 cause you to quit your job?
