A 666 stamped W-2 prompted a Christian man in Clarksville, Tenn. to quit his job, The Tennessean reports Feb. 7.
Walter Slonopas was a maintenance worker for Contech Casting LLC, but resigned after he noticed his 2012 W-2 had the number "666" on it. In the Bible, the meaning of those three digits is "number of the beast."
Slonopas believes that he can either keep working for his employer after seeing the numbers or he can go to hell.
“If you accept that number, you sell your soul to the devil,” Slonopas said.
The employer hired out a payroll service and it was there that the W-2 was produced -- not at Contech Casting, LLC. However, it wasn't the first time Slonopas had a run-in with 666 at his job. In 2011 he was assigned the number 668 to clock in to his job, but human resources accidentally generated a 666 number.
Seems that the 666 stamped W-2 was the final straw for this man at his job.
Slonopas became a born-again Christian 10 years ago. For a Christian who already encountered the number once, it was something he could overlook. Having it happen again almost two years later proved unsettling.
Do you support his decision quitting his job over the W-2 number?
