A 64-year-old woman in India gave birth to her first child after trying to get pregnant for 41 years. Sarala Srivastava gave birth to a baby girl last week after years of trying to conceive with her husband. It all started in the 70's but after 5 years of trying to no avail, Srivastava decided to see a doctor. Turns out, she had medical issues that prevented her from becoming a mom by conventional means.
Srivastava decided to have surgery because she so desperately wanted a baby of her own. The surgery was successful but the outcome was the same. Srivastava could not get pregnant. In the 80's she tried In Vitro Fertilization but she was still unable to conceive.
Now, twenty years later, Srivastava decided to try one more time -- and this time it worked. She got pregnant via IVF and was able to carry her baby 32 weeks -- but the baby is doing well and Sarala Srivastava and her husband couldn't be happier.
