Are you ready for The Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas parade scheduled at 7pm tonight? This year Woody and Jim from 107.5 the River will be emceeing the annual event.
Officials will monitor potentially hazardous weather should safety become an issue. The show will go on rain or shine according to Piedmont Community Relations Manager of Tennessee Stephen Francescon. “Everything is a go right now, but safety is the No.1 concern … we’ll closely monitor the weather if it turns severe.”
The theme of this year’s parade is “Sharing the Joy of Giving,” tying into Piedmont Natural Gas’ annual Week of Giving this week. This year, local Piedmont employees have adopted several Forgotten Angels from the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Piedmont employees also volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank on Monday, Dec. 2, sorting and packaging food. Piedmont has provided a Salvation Army’s Angel Tree float and Second Harvest Food Bank float for the parade, and those floats along with other floats will be assembled and decorated at the Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville office on Friday morning, Dec. 6.
In addition, Lennon and Maisy Stella, who play the roles of Teddy’s daughters, Maddie and Daphne Conrad on “Nashville,” will be singing at the annual tree lightning at 6:30pm. They will sing Silent Night and Christmas Coming Home, an original song. The sisters will also ride in the parade. The Nashville Symphony Chorus will also perform at the city’s annual tree lighting ceremony on the Public Square.
