The 60th annual Detroit Autorama rolls into Detroit’s COBO Convention Center this coming weekend. Among the many things this show will offer is a series of car care tips and how-to demonstrations from Meguiar’s. With sessions being held during all three days of this year’s event, most Detroit Area automotive enthusiasts should have the opportunity to experience at least one session. Here are the topics which will be covered:
Heavy duty headlight restoration
Friday, February 24 at 8 p.m.
This car care session will highlight the proper precautions and steps to take in the process of restoring severely yellowed, oxidized, or scratched headlamps. Attendees will be able to witness how to achieve professional results easily and simply using the Meguiar’s Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit. This kit does require the use of power tools but if used properly, the kit will restore plastic headlamp lenses to like-new condition, providing a brilliant high-gloss surface and long-lasting protection against aging and contaminants.
Dual action polisher – tips on proper usage
Saturday, February 25 at 3 p.m.
Focusing on the use of Meguiar’s professional dual-action polisher, this class will equip attendees with the know-how necessary to produce a show car shine every time. Techniques and uses covered will include the removal of swirl marks, scratches and oxidation from the paint. Learn the proper materials, polisher speed and applied pressure to use for each type of task. When used properly, professional results can be achieved in less time than manual methods without causing any harm to the vehicle’s paint.
Wheel polishing with Meguiar’s DynaCone
Saturday, February 25 at 7 p.m.
In this session, attendees will have the opportunity to learn how Meguiar’s DynaCone can help achieve a brilliant shine on wheels and other metals. Used in combination with an electric or cordless drill, this diamond shaped tool helps automotive enthusiasts reach into the nooks and crannies of even the most difficult and complex wheels. Attend this session to understand the proper techniques and materials to use with this tool as well as tips on proper clean-up when finished to ensure a long-life of the DynaCone.
New product overview – how to choose the right product
Sunday, February 26 at 4 p.m.
Attendees for this final car care session will have an opportunity to learn about a number of Meguiar’s new products. The session will help provide an understanding of what each product does, what its primary uses are and how to select the right product for the right job when maintaining the beauty of one’s car, both inside and out.
