CBS TV’s 60 Minutes newsmagazine series will showcase Zenyatta, the reigning queen of Thoroughbred horse racing, on Halloween evening.
The Sunday, October 31st, program will feature film footage shot during Zenyatta’s workouts with exercise rider Steve Willard and jockey Mike Smith in the days leading up to early November’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
Owned by Jerry and Ann Moss (of A&M Records() and trained by John Sherreffs, Zenyatta is a top contender for the $5 million 2010 Breeders’ Cup Classic, in which she will defend her 2009 title. Zenyatta is currently undefeated, with 19 high-stakes racing wins in a row.
The 2010 Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be held at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky, during the first weekend in November.
