A six-year-old boy has been suspended from school for kissing a girl (she likes him back) on the hand. In addition to having been suspended, the six-year-old boy now has “sexual harassment” on his school record. Of course, after having been suspended from school for “sexual harassment”, Hunter Yelton from Canon City in Colorado wants to know, “what is sex?” According to an updated KRDO report from Dec. 10, 2013, “first grader, Hunter Yelton, told us he loves science and phys-ed. Also...that he has a crush on a girl at school, who likes him back. It may sound innocent enough...but at six years old Hunter now has 'sexual harassment' on his school record.”
The six-year-old boy who has been suspended from school stayed home on Monday instead of going to school. When talking to KRDO, Hunter Yelton admitted that he “leaned over and kissed her [the girl that he likes and who likes him back] on the hand” during reading group.
“That's what happened," said Hunter Yelton. "They sent me to the office, fair and square. I did something wrong and I feel sorry.”
Some children who saw Hunter’s kiss on the girl’s hand reported it to the music teacher, who in turn brought it to the attention of the principal. And that is where Hunter Yelton ended up and heard the words “sexual harassment” for the first time.
After having had her six-year-old son suspended from school for “sexual harassment,” Hunter Yelton’s mom, Jennifer Saunders, is dealing with her son’s curiosity as to what “sex” is.
“Now my son is asking questions… what is sex mommy? That should not ever be said, sex. Not in a sentence with a six year old," said Hunter’s mom.
Jennifer Saunders admits that Hunter is an affectionate boy and that he has been suspended before for rough-housing, and for kissing the same girl on the cheek. Or as Hunter himself explained it. “Yes … I have a lot of energy. I mean six year olds. They have a lot of energy."
After having been suspended from school before, Hunter’s mom tried what most parents would try. “We've been working with him with the classroom disruption. He was grounded for awhile. Big restrictions," she said.
After six-year-old Hunter kissed the girl that he has a crush on first on the cheek and now on her hand, he was not only suspended but also received a “sexual harassment” offense on his school record. The superintendent at School District RE-1 says that the six-year-old boy’s actions "fit the school policy description of 'sexual harassment'.”
