Gloom and doom doesn’t have to pervade the Catholic (and non-Catholic Christian) world after the seemingly definitive declaration of Barack Obama and his HHS Pro-Choice mandate. Obviously, God is in control. But so are we! There are six things that we can do that will guarantee our religious freedom (guaranteed by the Declaration of Independence—and ratified by the Constitution) and the peace of following our God directed conscience.
First and foremost, as Catholics, we must return to the fullness of Reconciliation with God and His Church—through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and God’s Merciful Grace—and return to the vibrant Life in Christ necessary to take on such a monumental task. Only in solidarity do majorities of people recover their rights from tyrants. Secondly, as Catholics, with a voter block of 67 million Catholics, and 27% of the vote, we must mobilize ourselves politically, and make our voice heard through our elected representatives, reminding them that our vote (for them, in the future) depends on compliance on such a pivotal topic! Remember, this HHS mandate was not conceived democratically! Yet, democratically, we as Catholics, along with the help of our non-Catholic Christian friends, and friends who respect religious freedom, can send a powerful message to a tyrant, hell bent on stripping our religious rights as Americans!

Thirdly, WE MUST VOTE FOR ANYONE BUT BARACK OBAMA! Even if tumbleweed runs versus the President, vote for tumbleweed! The surest way to beat the one-year-implementation-time IS TO VOTE OUT THE RELIGIOUS TYRANNY! Plain and simple, vote for ANYONE who is willing to reverse the mandate; in doing so repeal the mandate!

Fourthly, invade the White House with letters and e-mails of your intent to end this Presidents reign. In doing so, he may relent. He may not! Then follow step number three regardless of what he does! Remember, if he can strip our religious freedom once, he can do it again!

The fifth thing we must do is not waste this situation as a teaching moment! We must all become historians and teachers and illustrate this regime, and this situation, as the last time Americans allowed a leader to rob us of our God given unalienable rights! Our children must be brought to an understanding of what’s at stake right now! If we avoid this situation, thinking that they will not understand, or fail to highlight it in the memoirs of our children’s educational books, IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, AND SOONER THAN WE THINK!

Finally, Barack Obama must become the poster child for the failure of left wing radical attempts to diminish the religious freedoms that Americans are born with, inherent in nature as human persons, from conception to natural death! But that is another topic for discussion.
