6 die in snowmobile crash, 2 more seriously injured

According to the Italian news agency Ansa, six people have died in a snowmobile crash on Friday. The snowmobile was carrying a group of Russian tourists when it overturned, broke through the safety nets and then went over a cliff.

There are six people that have been confirmed dead, two others were seriously injured and were transported to the hospital of Santa Chiara Trento for treatment.

The tragic snowmobile accident that killed six people and seriously injured two more happened on Mount Cermis, which is a mountain situated in the Province of Trento (northern Italy). Ansa also reports that the individuals killed in the accident were four men and two women.

The two tourists that escaped with their lives were taken to a nearby hospital via helicopter, according to local emergency officials at the scene.

Yahoo! news also reported that the slope was unlit and the crash took place at night.The cause of the crash is now under investigation by officials.
