On Oct 06, 2011 residents of Lawrence, Kansas took to the streets dressed as zombies to benifit the Lawrence Humane Society.
Around six thirty hundreds of zombies poured into downtown Lawrence to participate it what could be largest walk the event has ever seen. The zombies who showed up dressed to impress were walking to support the Lawrence Humane Society. The zombies brought the Lawrence Humane Society much needed equipment and over eight hundred dollars in donations. The donations will go to the upkeep of the animals at the facility. The zombies however, were not the only participants in this event, many local business also did their part to contribute to this event (a list of business is located at the bottom of this article). The offical body count of the event totaled out at eight hundred and sixty seven participants, making it the largest Zombie Walk in the history of Zombie Walking in Lawrence.
