This is the year of the 5th Annual Hornblower’s Bow Wow Brunch Cruise in which a portion of the proceeds from the event goes to benefit the Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC). This unique fall affair is scheduled for this Sunday, October 20th at Noon; boarding begins at 11:30 sharp and cruise ends by 2:00 p.m. It will be a two-hour cruise on the San Diego Bay and will include a Halloween-themed canine costume contest. All-in-all, it promises to be a howling good time for all!
This cruise is one of the limited Fido Friendly cruises available for pets and their families. It will depart from the Grape Street Pier located at 1800 N. Harbor Drive in San Diego. Tickets are $70 each for adults and the price includes an invitation for one furry canine family companion to cruise and brunch for FREE!
Adults will be offered an amazing array of brunch buffet items including unlimited champagne and desserts. The fuzzy Fidos cruising that day will also be treated like royalty and will be served a delicious pet buffet. Afterward they can compete in the timely Halloween-themed canine costume contest and will be able to visit the lawn-inspired dog relief area that will be specially set up on the sun deck.
A portion of the proceeds from this wags-on-the-waves festivity will go to assist the orphaned animals at HWAC in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Area residents and those visiting the area with their pooch are invited to grab a ghostly getup for their furry family member as well as stocking up on a hearty appetite for a day on the bay that promises to be simply spook-tacular.
Well-behaved dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome for Hornblower’s Bow Wow Brunch Cruise. (Canines must be kept on a leash throughout the cruise.) Each ticket includes a two-hour cruise on the San Diego Bay, an all-you-can-eat brunch with free flowing champagne, a dessert buffet, a doggie buffet “to go,” refreshing water bowls for pups and the entertaining doggie costume contest with great prizes! Guests can board without dogs, as well, or simply stop by the ticket booth to drop off donations for Helen Woodward Animal Center. You may even get the opportunity to see Chopper the Biker Dog rolling in for some photo ops!
“This is one of my favorite events of the year,” stated Helen Woodward Animal Center Vice President of Development Renee Resko. “Hornblower Cruises completely embraces the concept of pets as family members. It’s such a sweet way to see people and pets bonding and it is really an extraordinary brunch experience. We are honored to be a part with it!”
