5th and 6th graders participated in an all-star game

A 5th and 6th grade All-Star Game was played at Westwood Community Center on May 31, 2014. The game featured some of the best players North Jersey and Rockland County, NY.

The blue team won 36-25.

The blue team was coached by Stefanie Pagan, junior from Hasbrouck Heights.

On the blue team, the following players participated:

  • Maura Bednarcik from New Milford, NJ
  • Kate Errity from Woodcliff Lake, NJ
  • Emily Cupo from Wood-Ridge, NJ
  • Kacie Centineo from Waldwick, NJ
  • Jenna Robinson from Franklin Lakes, NJ

The pink team was coached by Swati Shivkumar, senior from Hasbrouck Heights.

On the pink team, the following players participated:

  • Lauren Lisica from River Edge, NJ
  • Emma McNierney from Woodcliff Lake, NJ
  • Jenna Castellano from Wood-Ridge, NJ
  • Lindsey Blacher from Allendale, NJ
  • Alexis Lomonaco from Lincoln Park, NJ
  • Grace Lynch from Pearl River, NJ

These players were also selected, but did not attend the game:

  • Lexi Levine from Franklin Lakes, NJ
  • Amanda Malpeli from Rockland County, NY
  • Camryn Runfeldt from Lincoln Park, NJ

Both teams played tenacious man-to-man defense. They boxed out and rebounded well. They pushed the ball up the court for fast breaks and hit several outside shots in the half court offense.
