The calendar says it’s spring, but Mother Nature proved once again it holds all the cards.

Knowing the show must go on, Friday morning looked bleak. Towards supper time, however, the roads were clear, the temps favorable, and it was back to business to get the car show set up.

Surprisingly with all the snow that was dumped on the Twin Cities from Thursday to Friday, it probably won’t affect attendance. With all we've been through this long, cold winter, car fans are antsy to get out and about. A little snow (okay, more like a foot) isn't going to stop us from having a good time.

Held indoors in the comfy confines of the Minnesota State Fair Coliseum, a favorite staging place for hockey games, rodeos, and other family themed events throughout the year, the GSTA Show is billed as the longest running car show in the state.

The GSTA event features a nice mix of trophy-winning show cars, high-end builds, and purpose-built drag packs, all centered in the perimeter of the Coliseum floor. Outside, the surrounding concourse houses plenty of other classic cars, builders, and parts vendors.

Best of all, parking is free. The parking lot is located where the State Fair’s Midway area is usually stationed.

Admission prices for adults are $12 with juniors (ages 6-15) being $5 and 6-and-under are free. Discounted tickets are available directly from the website.

Event times are as follows:
Saturday 9am to 9pm
Sunday 9am to 6pm
