55th Grammy Style Superlatives (Photos)

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards returned Sunday, February 10th, in Los Angeles at The Staples Center. While we all enjoy the performances, we also love to see what the stars will be wearing. CBS issued a wardrobe advisory encouraging the celebrities to cover up their bodies so it was exciting to see how what they would choose to wear. Overall it was a great night for fashion. Here are my Style Superlatives for music’s biggest night…

Biggest Flirt – Jennifer Lopez
She is known for her amazing body. She will always be remembered for her revealing, green Versace dress she wore to the Grammy’s in 2000. Jennifer Lopez did it again this year with a perfectly crafted, black Anthon Vaccarello dress showing tons of leg. She wore a hair pulled back in a tight bun showing off her gorgeous face. When she walked onto the red carpet, she took everyone’s breath away.

Best Dressed - Kelly Rowland
Singer, Kelly Rowland, wore an amazing Georges Chakra Couture gown paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry to this year’s awards show. She looked absolutely stunning. The dress complimented her fabulous body. Style guru, Giuliana Rancic, even commented that she would be a Best Dressed nominee on E!’s Fashion Police. The dress was proportioned perfectly and the cutouts were in the right places. Although she was not nominated for any awards, she was definitely a winner last night.

Most Unique – Beyonce Knowles
Going with the black and white trend, Beyonce decided to surprise everyone by sporting a jumpsuit designed by British designer, Osman Yousefzada. This piece is from his Spring 2013 collection. She took away the award for Best Traditional R&B Perfomance with her song “Love On Top”. It was easy to appreciate her choice of a jumpsuit because everyone else was wearing dresses so it made her stand out. Beyonce pulled this chic yet simple look off with a nice and neat ponytail and a gorgeous red lip.

Best Hair – Taylor Swift
America’s Sweetheart wowed the crowd with her Goddess look. She wore a white gown designed by J Mendel. Taylor Swift paired it with a beautiful but messy Goddess braid that looked similar to a halo. It was very age appropriate and trendy. Her jewels were by Jaimin and Lorraine Schwartz. The updo was braided so elegantly. It was perfection.

Most Likely to Succeed – Rihanna
This bombshell never ceases to make the red carpet her own. Last night at the Grammy’s she made the red carpet RED. Rihanna’s old Hollywood hair accented her flowing, mesh Azzedine Alaia dress and Manolo Blahnik shoes. We have gotten used to her looking so edgy that we forgot how effortless she looks when she’s all dolled up looking glamorous.

Most Appealing – Carrie Underwood
Country phenomenon, Carrie Underwood, wowed the crowd during her performance of “Blown Away” and “Two Black Cadillacs”. She performed in a striking, light up dress by Theia. Carrie won the Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance. As she belted out her beautiful lyrics, there were images projected onto the dress. She told reporter after the awards show, "We wanted it to be artful and dramatic." The American Idol winner definitely achieved her goal.

Most Likely to be a Firework – Katy Perry
Gorgeous in a green, Gucci gown, Katy Perry looked stunning. She showed off her curvaceous figure with a tight, sea foam dress that complimented all of her assets. Katy’s makeup was flawless and her straight black hair brought the look together. The beading around the neckline was dazzling and the peekaboo part of the dress had everyone talking. Some might even say that her cleavage stole the show. However, she looked vibrant and reminiscent of a 50’s pin up.

Best Makeup – Adele
While Adele’s dress was not one of my favorites, her makeup was immaculate. Her face looked so fresh and natural. I applaud her for trying something different because she always wears black. We can always count on the “Rolling In The Deep” singer to deliver an eye-catching but subtle beehive. Adele’s eyelashes and eye makeup are a part of her signature look and she always looks stunning. We also caught a glimpse of the letter ‘A’ tattooed behind her ear inspired by her new baby boy, Angelo.
