‘50 Shades of Grey’ movie: Krysten Ritter seems interested in playing Anastasia

The “50 Shades of Greymovie just got another intriguing Anastasia Steele option. According to a Jan. 2 report by Digital Spy, brunette beauty Krysten Ritter could be interested in the role.

The star of the ABC series “Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23” recently retweeted a link to an article suggesting that she would make an excellent Ana. So Krysten either finds it amusing that her name is being linked to the movie, or she’s letting her fans know that likes the idea of playing Ana.

On “Apartment 23,” she does play a girl who would probably enjoy a little BDSM. However, con artist Chloe would likely desire the same control that Christian Grey craves. In other words, she’d be the one wielding the whip and doing the spanking. It’s a little surprising that Krysten’s show hasn’t referenced the “50 Shades of Grey” casting craze yet since it’s just the type of big movie that James Van Der Beek would love to get cast in.

Krysten Ritter has a connection to another actor interested in playing Christian Grey. She starred alongside Ian Somerhalder in “How to Make Love to a Woman,” which is a movie all about sex. So since she and Ian have worked together before, perhaps they’d be comfortable with the idea of reuniting to play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the “50 Shades of Grey” movie. Anastasia Steele does have her humorous moments, so an actress like Krysten who is experienced in comedy would probably do an excellent job capturing all of her little quirks.

The only knocks against Krysten are that she might be a little too old for the role and that she doesn’t have much experience shooting nude scenes. However, she did strip down for a censored topless scene in “Apartment 23.”

Krysten has also starred in the vampire comedy “Vamps” and on the AMC show “Breaking Bad.”
