The 50 Shades of Grey movie has attracted the interest of yet another sexy star – now Kristen Stewart seems somewhat intrigued by the idea of playing reluctant sex slave Anastasia Steele.
K-Stew’s maybe-boyfriend has also recently talked about the movie, but it doesn’t sound like Robert Patterson is interested in spanking Kristen or another brunette beauty in Christian Grey’s Red Room of Pain. During a recent interview, Here’s what Rob said about playing the control-obsessed billionaire who loves binding his sex slaves and beating their bottoms with a riding crop:
“I think the author has written me out of it. I saw some interview earlier and they went, ‘Oh, it could never be him.’ And I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m going to make you pay for that.’”
He was referring to 50 Shades of Grey author E. L. James saying that she doesn’t want Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart to star in the movie even though 50 Shades started out as Twilight fan-fiction. Rob also said that he thinks that it’s “strange” that so many actors are vying for the role of Christian Grey, so it doesn’t sound like he’s very interested in pursuing the part.
However, Kristen Stewart had this to say about playing Anastasia Steele:
“First of all, they haven’t called me or anything, they haven’t offered me the part. It’s spicy. Yeah. I don’t know, I haven’t read the whole thing and it’s also a highly coveted part everyone is trying to. But I’m pretty daring.”
So it seems like Kristen sees winning the role of Anastasia Steele as a challenge that she’s willing to take on just so she can prove how “daring” she is to everyone. However, if she and Robert Pattinson really are planning to stay together after she cheated on him, surely Rob won’t like the idea of his girlfriend sitting in a steamy bathtub with a hot guy like Alexander Skarsgard or Ian Somerhalder.
K-Stew might also have some tough competition since plenty of other actresses want to play Ana, and there are also a lot of actors like Ian who are probably happy that Rob is staying away from 50 Shades of Grey. Here’s a look at a few potential Christian and Ana couplings comprised of the stars who have indicated that they’re interested in the movie:
Jake Gyllenhaal and Felicity Jones
Jake recently said that he’s “flattered” that some Fifty fans think that he should play Christian, and he said that “of course” he’s interested in the role. Jake did prove that he has no problem stripping down and starring in steamy sex scenes with a beautiful brunette by getting busy with Anne Hathaway in Love & Other Drugs, and he could always ask his sister Maggie for some BDSM tips – the freaky fetish lifestyle was featured in her film Secretary.
Speaking of Maggie Gyllenhaal, she recently starred in another sex-centric movie entitled Hysteria, which is all about the invention of the vibrator. Her costar Felicity Jones would make a great Anastasia Steele, and The Worst Witch actress has said that she’s interested in seeing a script for the movie.
Lucy Hale and Ian Somerhalder
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale said that it would be “freaking awesome” to play Anastasia Steele, and she has already picked out The Vampire Diaries hunk Ian Somerhalder as her perfect Christian Grey. Luckily for Lucy, Ian has said that he thinks playing Christian would be a “phenomenal opportunity.” Maybe Nina Dobrev should be a bit worried about how badly her boyfriend wants the role.
Kellan Lutz and Ashley Benson
Lucy’s Pretty Little Liars costar Ashley Benson also wants to play Ana, but the blonde beauty might be better suited for the role of Ana’s glamorous gal pal Kate Kavanagh. And obviously Kellan Lutz would be the perfect pick for Kate’s love interest Elliot – Christian’s fun-loving adopted brother is based on Kellan’s Twilight character. Kellan recently said that he “trusts the fans” that think that he should play Elliot.
If Kristen Stewart beats out the other actresses above by convincing E. L. James that there isn’t a better choice for the role of Anastasia Steele, then who would her Christian Grey be?
Perhaps K-Stew would be perfectly paired with fellow vampire franchise star Alexander Skarsgard – the True Blood hunk recently said that he’d consider starring in 50 Shades after looking at the script and seeing who else gets attached to it. With his steely eyes and dark demeanor, he’s just the type of guy who could make a selfish, silly starlet like K-Stew straighten up and behave herself.
