Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer often compete against each other in “50 Shades of Grey” movie polls, and now they've met up in a real-life matchup. According to a Feb. 2 report by The Stir, the Christian Grey favorites physically faced off in the Celebrity Beach Bowl, so they weren't competing to get cast as Christian. Instead they fought to see who the best flag football player is in the pre-Super Bowl competition.
This year’s Celebrity Beach Bowl sponsored by DirecTV was loaded with stars that could get cast in the “50 Shades of Grey” movie. Ian Somerhalder competed against girlfriend Nina Dobrev, who is often considered an Anastasia Steele favorite. Matt Bomer played on Nina’s team, so Ian had to beat his girlfriend and the other Christian Grey fan favorite.
Ian Somerhalder’s team won the Celebrity Beach Bowl, but viewers were the real winners. The two flag football teams were loaded with eye candy, and a lot of the competitors were definitely hot enough for the “50 Shades of Grey” movie.
Matt Bomer’s teammate Chace Crawford would make an excellent Christian Grey option now that he’s done with “Gossip Girl.” He’s a sexy guy who has experience playing someone who enjoys the finer things in life.
Matt’s team also included “Heart of Dixie” star Scott Porter. Scott might not look dark and mysterious enough to play Christian Grey, but he’d be perfect as the tortured billionaire’s warmer brother Elliot.
Ian’s winning Celebrity Beach Bowl team was equally loaded with sexy stars. “True Blood” hottie Ryan Kwanten could play Christian or Elliot Grey, while “Smash” star Katharine McPhee would make a smashing Anastasia Steele.
Ian’s team also included Derek Jeter's gorgeous girlfriend Hannah Davis. The 22-year-old model is the right age to play Anastasia Steele, but she doesn't have a lot of acting experience. Hannah is probably best known for playing the silent Genie in DirecTV commercials. She might not look like Fifty fans’ ideal Ana with her blonde hair and supermodel body, so maybe Hannah Davis would make a better Kate Kavanagh. However, she’d have to prove that she can do more than stand around and look drop-dead gorgeous.
