The “50 Shades of Grey” movie casting race now includes an interesting fresh face. According to a March 12 report by Independent.ie, some Fifty fans think that the daughter of U2 star Bono should be cast as Anastasia Steele. So what makes Eve Hewson an ideal Ana?
The up-and-coming actress has dark hair and beautiful blue eyes, and at 22, she’s the right age for the role. She’s also not a big star, and some fans think that the actress who plays Anastasia Steele should be relatively unknown just like Kristen Stewart was when she got cast in “Twilight.” Alexis Bledel is currently a heavy fan favorite, but if she got cast as Ana, it might be hard for some “Gilmore Girls” fans to quit picturing her as Rory Gilmore. This is one reason an unknown actress might be a better choice than an established star.
Eve Hewson might not be a big name yet, but Bono’s beautiful daughter has gotten to work with a few established stars already. The Irish actress starred alongside Sean Penn and Frances McDormand in “This Must Be the Place,” the story of a retired rocker’s quest for revenge. She probably also learned a bit from a trio of beautiful actresses in "Blood Ties" -- she got to work with Zoe Saldana, Marion Cotillard, and Mila Kunis in that upcoming movie. Mila was also once a “50 Shades of Grey” movie favorite, but she’s already stated that she won’t be playing Anastasia Steele.
Eve Hewson isn’t the only daughter of a musician who has gotten buzz for the Ana role. Phil Collins’ cute, doe-eyed daughter Lily Collins definitely looks the part, and her star is on the rise after playing Snow White in “Mirror Mirror” and scoring the lead role in “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” David Cassidy’s daughter Katie Cassidy was also once a popular pick for the part. She currently plays Laurel Lance on the CW series “Arrow.” Lisa Marie Presley’s drop-dead gorgeous daughter Riley Keough might also be someone for the “50 Shades” filmmakers to take a look at. The Kristen Stewart lookalike has starred in “Magic Mike” and was cast in the 2014 film “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
So do you think that Eve would make the perfect Ana, or would you like to see one of the other musicians' daughters mentioned above cast as Christian Grey’s student sex slave?
