’50 Shades of Grey’ movie: Ashley Benson’s dye job for Anastasia Steele role?

The “50 Shades of Greymovie isn’t casting Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele just yet, but actress Ashley Benson might be getting ready to audition to play Ana. According to a March 11 report by Us Weekly, the “Spring Breakers” star has dyed her hair brown.

Last May the formerly-blonde bombshell told Celebuzz that she’s read every book in the “50 Shades” series and that she really wants to play Anastasia Steele. The “Pretty Little Liars” actress is certainly pretty enough to be Ana with her gorgeous blue eyes, but her new brunette locks really help her look the part.

The “50 Shades of Grey” movie screenplay is probably close to being completed by now (if it isn’t already finished), so this means that E. L. James and the producers will start looking for a director soon. After a director is chosen, it will finally be time to cast Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

Ashley Benson’s new brunette hair color might make her look more like Ana, but it’s going to take a lot more than that to convince the “50 Shades” filmmakers that she’ll make a better Ana that other fan favorites like Alexis Bledel, Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, and Felicity Jones. Luckily for Ashley, she’s got just the thing to help her stand out -- her raunchy role in “Spring Breakers.”

In the movie, Ashley stars in a racy threesome scene with James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens. Some starlets might find shooting such a sex scene traumatic and difficult, but Ashley said that she was actually “comfortable” while she pretended to get it on with her costars. So if Ashley is okay shooting threesome scenes, she might not mind the BDSM scenes in the “50 Shades of Grey” movie.

So do you think that Ashley Benson looks like the perfect Anastasia Steele with her new hair color? And do you think her role in “Spring Breakers” could help her score an audition for the role?
