Seems Obama's plan is quickly losing support amongst the people. According to a new Rasmussen poll, a full 50% of Americans now oppose it. Only 35% are for it, with the other 15% undecided.
Another interesting poll says that almost as many, 45%, believe that a government run plan will actually increase costs while only 19% think it will reduce costs. So it seems the people are starting to see this for what it is, another huge government project that will only cost more and provide less. The lessons of Social Security, Medicare, etc. are beginning to take hold and we can be thankful for that!
Imagine how many would oppose it once they find out getting private insurance will become illegal?

You need to stop referencing the IBD false report. The legislation before both the House and Senate do not include the same language as the previous (3 yrs ago) Universal Health Bill.
Stop posting lies and false statements, it only makes you look stupid to people who actually can read.
That language comes from the current bill. Dated July 14, 2009 12:15 P.M.
You continue to misread and misstate what the bill says. IBD is wrong. Private health insurance will NOT be made illegal. Rather, once the bill goes into effect, private health insurance will have to meet certain criteria. Like allowing pre-existing conditions, etc. Old plans that disallow pre-existing conditions will be grandfathered in, but restricted to not allow new members. But private health insurance can still be sold! It just needs to abide by the new conditions. You might not like the conditions, Robert, and you might not think private health insurance is viable under those new conditions, but to misrepresent it as you do in your headline "Private insurance to become illegal" is absolutely incorrect. You owe us a retraction. Until then, you ought to be ashamed to call yourself a journalist. You are nothing but a shill and a tool.
The UHB is NOT the same bill before the House now. You NEED to READ HR3200 DUDE. What is wrong with you? I read the darn thing. It is appalling. Those people already on medicare or medicaid whether by choice or chance, are getting medical care now, and that 47mm number is bogus. You are believing their lies. The rest of us who are responsible and pay our own way are happy with the insurance we have. I am happy paying taxes for the less fortunate to have medical care via these two plans already in place because I know that there are those less fortunate who do benefit from them. Illegals still have to use the emergency rooms, and maybe one day the gov't will grow a pair and kick them out of the country so they are not such a burden to us tax payers. But I am not going to hold my breath. Meanwhile, this Obamacare bill is nothing but a POWER GRAB to control 7% of our economy. You need to wake up and smell the coffee. Get online and read the darn thing. Good grief already.
