Last week, a 30-year-old man from Florida has claimed a $50 million Powerball jackpot prize. On Jan. 9, Christopher McGurran collected his massive cash windfall after buying a ticket from a St. Petersburg grocery store for the Dec. 26 draw.

The Florida Lottery gave Mr. McGurran a one-time, lump-sum payment of nearly $32.5 million after the lucky player opted not to receive six-figure annual payments for nearly three decades.

According to local television station WTSP, the winner bought the Powerball ticket through Quick Pick at the Sweetbay located at 2139 34th Street North. The retailer got a bonus incentive of $25,000.

The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday, Jan. 12 are 10, 14, 21, 23, 47 and Powerball 7. The rollover jackpot for the next draw on Jan. 16 will be $90 million with a $57.2 million cash value. The U.S. multi-state game currently has the biggest lottery prize in the world, followed by America's Mega Millions at $62 million.
