With much excitement, one hundred recent high school graduates, their parents and South Florida Ford and Linocln dealers gathered at The Signature Grand this weekend for the Salute to Education Scholarship Awards Luncheon. While the students were being awarded $150,000 in scholarships and laptops, Salute to Education was celebrating 20 years of supporting Miami-Dade and Broward students.
Salute to Education, Inc., was established in 1994 and has become one of the largest private scholarship programs in South Florida. The non-profit is funded through dealership contributions and corporate support from Ford Motor Company divisions. In 20 years, Salute to Education has awarded more than $3.6 million scholarships to more than 4,000 South Florida public and private high school seniors.
"We recognize the tremendous potential of students within the South Florida community and are committed to helping them pursue their dreams of higher education," said David Menton, President of Salute to Education and of Sawgrass Ford.
