On February 14th, 2013, a traveling exhibition of the 50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic will check in at The Venetian in Las Vegas. As the name suggests, the exhibition will showcase 50 of the most-loved photographs from the iconic magazine's 125-year history.
50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic will be the second installation to grace the walls of the new Imagine Exhibitions Gallery at The Venetian, which previously hosted Da Vinci - The Genius for a limited engagement.
"We are thrilled to host 50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic as Imagine Exhibitions Gallery's second installation," Tom Zaller, CEO and President of Imagine Exhibitions, Inc., said in a press release. "Imagine Exhibitions strives to provide Las Vegas with inspirational, thought-provoking and immersive exhibitions, making this partnership with National Geographic a perfect fit."
In addition to viewing the photographs as they appeared in the magazine, visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to learn more about the photographers themselves and the stories behind the photos through documentary videos. For some images, "near frames," the sequence of photographs taken in the field before and after the perfect shot, will also be displayed.
50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic will run for a limited engagement, open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting February 14th. (Tickets will not be sold after 6 p.m.) Ticket prices are $16 for General Admission; $13 for students with a valid ID, Nevada residents, military and seniors; and free for children under 12 who are accompanied by a paying adult.
