I call it "Price War in Lice War!". Most lice removal salons charge at least $100 per treatment, and you generally need some type of 'follow-up treatment' to make sure ALL the lice and nits are gone. So, if it's a family with 3 kids, and mom has lice too...they are looking at about $800 to treat 4 people twice. Geez. The option has been to buy Rid or Nix (which are toxic, can burn scalps, and smell really bad!) and hope and pray that you can get all the nits out...with the ridiculous plastic comb that comes with the kit. If it is a mild case of lice, that might work. But, if it is a moderate to severe infestation, it is very unlikely that that will take care of the lice outbreak. Now, you are out the $40-$60 for drug store lice products..AND YOU STILL HAVE LICE! More time off work, more school missed because the school nurse is still finding nits in your child's hair. So much stress! Here's the good news, my salon, Bernadette's at the Beach (www.licefreekids.com) is offering a new pricing structure: $50 for the first (manual) lice removal service, and $40 for a second one, 4-7 days later, if you need it. Head checks are always free at Bernadette's at the Beach. So, you get treated and combed (professionally, by us), then 3 days later apply the Absolute Clear Head Treatment Mousse, leave it on for 1 minute...then wash it out and live your life! A couple days after that, come to us for a free head check, and chances are you will be done. You may need a 2nd professional treatment, if there are still nits and/or any new lice, but that will be $40 - not bad! We have committed to this pricing structure through April 30, 2013, but if it works, we will make it permanent. For more info, take a peek at our website: www.licefreekids.com.
