Rapper 50 Cent is back to his healthy, burly self after having lost an astonishing 56 pounds to play a cancer patient in an upcoming movie.

"I'm now 210 pounds," the 6' tall rapper recently told Us. "I'm back at the gym. At my maximum weight I was 214. In the actual film I went down to 160."

LIQUID DIET

In Feb. 2010, 50 Cent (born Curtis James Jackson), went on a liquid diet and ran on the treadmill for 3 hours a day to slim down to play cancer-stricken football player in the film, Things Fall Apart.

50 Cent, who wrote the script, is excited about the movie, which co-stars Ray Liotta and is directed by Mario van Peebles. "I think the film project is going to be great, not just the transformation and the weight loss but my performance in itself," says the 35-year-old rapper/actor. I'm excited to see it.

'ALL HE ATE WAS ICEES'

50 Cent dropped from 214 pounds to an anemic 160 pounds in 2 months for the role. His longtime friend, Lloyd Banks of G-Unit, was shocked with his dedication.

"I was around him everyday, so I didn't see it [the dramatic weight-loss transformation] as much as other people did, but when I seen the pictures, it's affected everything," recalls Banks. "He's crazy, it was non-stop working, running 10 miles. All he ate was icees since Feb. 23rd. I'm not sure if he cheated or not, but all I seen was freezers of icees."

When asked how he regained the weight, 50 Cent replied: "It's the art of eating. The no-complex route. It seems everything that is fun is no good for you. I had different things I don't usually have in my diet, to put the weight back."

Meanwhile, 50 Cent, who just completed touring and also recorded his next album, just filmed a public service announcement urging fans to donate to the Leukemia Foundation and registered as a bone marrow organ donor.

50 Cent, a Grammy-winning rapper, has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
