Trader Joe’s is often thought of as healthy, eco-safe store, and it lets its customers go right on believing that. However, many super-aware shoppers have figured out that this image only goes so far in reality. Trader Joe’s does have its virtues, and there will be a follow-up Trader Joe’s list (stay tuned). Meanwhile, below are some reasons it is not yet part of This Complete Shopping Trip.
These items include the more macrobiotic-style food items that total health-nut shoppers want to have in their baskets. “Macrobiotic”, of course, is used here to mean as little processing as possible; no factory fillers, fluff, residue or powders mixed in with that thing that used to be food. Another big deal for us juicers & cleansers is the sugar factor, and we love our chocolate with natural, low-glycemic-index sweeteners. (We’re not talking about you, Xylitol!)
Oh, Trader Joe’s. If only you carried #2, I could make you my mid-week stop. Sigh.

3. Chocolate sweetened with something besides Xylitol or sugar cane
