Life can be stressful. We all have days that are difficult, and it can be easy to just withdraw or collapse. At times there is even temptation to just give up. The good news is that there are ways to recharge your spirit after a particularly trying day.
-Remind yourself that tomorrow is another day. Not only is tomorrow another day, tomorrow’s experience is likely to be a great one. Do not fall into the trap of feeling sorry for yourself. There is no greater way to plunge into feelings of self-defeat than to go on a pity party.
-Be proud of yourself for conquering the difficult day you just had. Remind yourself of the strength, the skills, and the mindset that helped you survive the day. Jot down something valuable that you learned during the day. Difficult days often come with a lesson learned.
-Do something you enjoy. Take a bubble bath. Read a good book. Watch a favorite TV show. Call a friend. Cook a favorite meal. Go for a walk.
-Exercise. Although it can be tempting to run home and crawl beneath the covers, a much more productive alternative is to exercise. Exercise raises your endorphin level and makes you feel great all over. It is good for you physically, mentally, and spiritually.
-Meditate, pray, journal. Getting in touch with your spiritual side is a great way to rejuvenate your spirit. It helps to cleanse you of any negative feelings you may be having and prepare you for the new day. Writing your feelings down is a great way to purge any negativity that might be hiding inside of you.
Learning how to recharge after a difficult day is very important. Difficult days will come and go. Looking on them as momentary learning experiences is a way to keep yourself grounded.
