Social media has been taking the entire global marketplace by the storm. The good news is it brings the whole world to your doorstep. The bad news is it brings the whole world to your doorstep.
And it’s becoming very easy to see how more and more people are getting overwhelmed with all that social media can do and are finding more difficult to discover, how to use the Facebook in a way that is beneficial to their business success.
Here are five ways a local business can use Facebook to boost their sales:
1) Place an Ad. Pay-per-click is a dangerous game to play if you don’t know what you’re doing. But Facebook ads are still pretty innocent investment. They are still undiscovered by many and therefore still very affordable, not having tons of restrictions and widely open with oncoming but today still weak competition.
2) Fill Out Your Profile With Local Information. Many are not aware that Facebook matches their users much like any other dating site out there – by the information supplied in profiles. So if you’d like to have Facebook match you up and put you in front of more local audience as a suggested user, make sure your profile is filled out completely and correctly.
3) Create a Local Group. Create a group with local address. Use the locale in your group name for even more recognition. Group is an awesome tool for reaching out to the local audience. Not only that it keeps the people of same interest and parameters together (hint: your target market), it allows you to message all the members – a powerful marketing strategy. Choose the relevant and helpful information to build those relationships with your local audience in an easy and non threatening way.
4) Join Other Local Groups. Another strategy with Facebook groups. Find local groups in your niche of similar content. Something that is very closely related, and not in a direct competition but rather something that actually compliments your niche. For example: if you’re selling bikes, don’t necessarily join all the groups that are geared to selling bikes, but look for those that are geared towards bike safety discussions perhaps. Still very targeted market, not much competition.
5) Local Events. Social media can get you in front of audience you might not have ever had a chance to be in front of, but nothing will ever replace the power of building relationships face to face. Find the local events of Facebook with targeted market that match your niche, or even create one yourself and turbo charge your effect by going to shake some hands personally.
