Before I get started...Yes, I know there are as many ways to live a happier life as there are people. These are the top 5 for me and for many others. Happiness is really a decision we make. We can be happy regardless of the circumstances surrounding us if we choose to be. It's not always the choice we make but we can do better next time. By implementing even 1 of these things you can change your thoughts and energy making it easier to choose happiness. So drumroll please...here are my top 5 ways to live a happier life.
What does it mean to simplify your life? Well, you can simplify all areas of your life such as living space, work, relationships, eating habits, etc. It means to remove things in your life that clutter not only your space and thoughts, but your energy too. Maybe you will start with your living space. Start by removing clutter from one drawer, closet or room. Only keep those things that you truly need and love. If you haven't used it in a year then give it away! Purging your area will allow the energy in your life to start moving again. It creates space so that you can manifest those things in your life that you desire.
2) Practice Mindfulness
Mindfulness is giving your attention fully to what you are doing and feeling. Meditation is a form of mindfulness but so is washing dishes, talking with a friend, or petting your dog. Give yourself fully to the moment. Look, feel, taste, move with full attention to your task. Living fully in the moment allows you to let go of some of the attachments to the past and the future bringing you great happiness.
I love nature! I love the flowers, plants, trees, and animals. I love it all. Being out in nature and feeling the energy of it allows us to feel a connection to all that is. We feel at one with creation and the Creator. When that happens we gain a sense of peace and that peace brings happiness.
4) Be Creative
As humans we were made to be creative. It might be solving a critical problem or painting a picture. Find things that inspire you to creativity. It brings you into a place of mindfulness so that you can experience happiness.
5) Showing Gratitude
Gratitude helps bring us into alignment with our true nature. Make a habit of being grateful. Keep a gratitude journal or decide to tell at least one person a day why you are grateful for them. It could be family, friends, or the checker at the grocery store. When you are giving or receiving gratitude, your vibration raises and it is much easier to feel your bliss, your happiness.
