.Start with clean hair. Shampoo your hair with something that will not weigh down your hair. Lately I have been loving Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo. It is a fortifying shampoo with non-ecotoxic formulas that will remove all residue from your hair.
.Use a weightless conditioner on ends. ONLY the ends. Conditioners are rich moisturizers filled with oils. By adding those back to the top of your head, you will weigh the hair down. Your hair will end up looking oily again and not retain volume the same. My favorite is the Bumble and Bumble Super Rich Conditioner.
3. Mousse or spray for volume. Using these products will give your hair some hold when you blow dry it. I love the Herbal Essence mousse (all of them!). John Frieda Luxurious Volume All Out Hold Hairspray is also a great one to maximize volume.
.Round brush to dry your hair. Blow drying your hair with a round brush will shape your hair to the brush and really pump it up. Also aiming the nozzle at an upward angle will help lift the root instead of blow drying down to flatten it out.
.Volumizing powder [optional]. Apply to root of hair. I love hair powder and I picked a travel size one up at ULTA for about $2. You only need a little powder at the root of the hair. I like to add it after I have styled it with a round brush to give it more 'oomph'.
